David Tran has come up with an Ajax driven route finder widget for London tubes with rails driving the backend. This London tube route finder is an excellent way of using Ajax and it makes the experience simple and easy.

The user interface is utilitarian at best and it could do with some user interface re-jigging. People would be using their browsers for route finding and for that purpose it is quite good.
