Apple deals with eighteen flaws in Tiger's Java
Filed in archive Security on December 17, 2007
Mac OS X 10.4 or much easier to pronounce Tiger has seen an updation on Java front by Apple to patch not one but Eighteen different vulnerabilities and some of them had been fixed by Sun way back in May itself. Apple took this step to thwart any attempt of hackers taking control of your machine but in this case there was not much hue and cry raised as generally Apple does not rate its security updates therefore users never get to know the severity of the problem.
Apple was acting smart enough in this regard by mentioning that the new release was meant to improve the reliability and compatibility for Java and was not categorized into some form of security update. Looks like Apple safely handled this issue which saw more than a dozen flaws being reported!!
