Can this really happen? If the words of Chris Tompkins, online editor at The Industry Standard are to be believed then iPhone gaming possesses the powers to put java based cellphone gaming to a near end.
His views are backed by use of Core Animation in iPhone which leads to advanced effects of OS X and OpenGL-accelerated 3D games. If game designers realize its true potential then Apple iPhone could really be in the reckoning but I don't think it will be able to throw Java out of the market which has been ruling the roost since quite a while but nothing can be said about the technology because what may be "in" today might be "out" tomorrow.
