Earlier called the J2ME Wireless Toolkit, Sun Java Wireless Toolkit is a set of tools which are used for creating Java applications running on Java Technology for the Wireless Industry and Mobile Service Architecture specification compliant devices. The toolkit comprises of device emulator, build tools and utilities. The toolkit enables implementation of impressive capabilities which are exposed through standard APIs.
It has all the advanced development features such as certificate management, MIDlet signing, push registry Emulation, integrated over-the-air (OTA) emulation etc. The toolkit comprises of Nokia's SNAP Mobile API and SNAP Mobile Sample Application as a part of the toolkit's External API feature.
Given below are the system requirements mentioned on their website:

• JavaTM 2 Platform, Standard Edition (Java SE SDK), version 1.5.0 - if you plan to do development, or JavaTM 2, Standard Edition Runtime Environment (JRE), version 1.5.0 - if you only plan to run the demonstration applications.
To download the SDK or JRE you want, go to http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.html
• Apple QuickTime player (required to play AMR media)

Minimum hardware requirements are:
• 50 MB hard disk space
• 128 MB system RAM
• 800 MHz Pentium III CPU
Installing the Sun Java Wireless Toolkit for CLDC on Windows
First ensure you have an appropriate Java SE environment installed, as described previously.
Run the installer, sun_java_wireless_toolkit-2_5-beta-windows.exe. Follow the instructions provided by the installer.

This is a very cool tool set. It's platform independent. But from what I heard it generates code with a slow execution speed. So can it generate machine specific code to improve the runtime speed?
