Eclipse announces three new projects for AJAX

In order to make Ajax style web development convenient the Eclipse Foundation has zeroed down on three projects. These projects are aimed at making available a wider range of tools for JavaScript programming. The three projects on the list are Eclipse Ajax Toolkit Framework (ATF), Eclipse Rich AJAX Platform (RAP) and Eclipse Dynamic Language Toolkit (DLTK).
Ajax Toolkit Framework or ATF offers tools and frameworks aimed at building AJAXIDE. A number of components are included in ATF such as a JavaScript debugger and tools for running of Ajax application. The second project Rich Ajax Platform aims at offering runtime for building rich, AJAX enabled internet application by extension of the existing Eclipse Rich Client Platform with a number of frameworks for creation of AJAX apps. Thirdly the Eclipse Dynamic Language Toolkiy project or DLTK offers frameworks and components for simplification of task of addition of support for dynamically typed languages to Eclipse. The announcement was made at the EclipseCon conference held this week.
