The latter will be contributing to SIP servlet 1.0-compatible app server to the open source GlassFish project. The partnership with Ericsson is expected to lead to expansion of the project into applications delivered on mobile networks.

Martin Harriman, VP, Ericsson stated on the partnership:

We realize that in developing new services around IMS, that will change the way people live their lives and we can't do that on our own.

Ericsson will be supporting developer communities and application testing on live IMS based network by contributing a number of tools. This association is expected to push the development of communications based features in Java servers.
