AJAX

We had been waiting with baited breath for it and now it is out!! Here is the Eclipse Rich Ajax Platform (RAP), an open source toolkit for building rich internet applications from Eclipse Foundation. Built around the OSGi Java service platform standard and the Eclipse platform for plug-in development components, RAP 1.0 meets the requirements of developers who work around the Eclipse Rich Client Platform.

Using RAP, developers can create rich Ajax enabled web applications using Eclipse development model and plug-ins with JFace and widget toolkit with SWT API. RAP is very much related to Eclipse RCP but rather being executed on your computer it runs on server and the applications can be accessed using standard browsers. Click here to download RAP 1.0.
