Filed in archive Business on June 7, 2007
Sun and CollabNet have together announced the world's first Virtualized Development Platform for distributed software development. It deploys the Sun Blade 6000 modular system for helping development organizations centralize development operations infrastructure, reduce cost of infrastructure and increase build and test quality. One can either avail it on site at client's location or on demand within CollabNet's world-class SaaS offerings.
It creates a self service software development environment which integrates with centralized management, provisioning and optimization capabilities to dynamically reserve system resources on the Sun Blade 6000. It offers self service access to pool of servers which can be easily configured from a user definable and version controlled profile library. Customers can expect a lot of savings through optimization of use of capital intensive hardware assets and attractive return on investments with automation of labor intensive provisioning process of code. This is the first virtualized infrastructure management system which integrates lifecycle environment development with build and test tools and provisions them dynamically to physical or virtual server blades.
