Up till now Google was more into web applications and it's only now that it has made a leap towards mobile applications. Though even Yahoo has been trying hard but still these companies have not been able counter Microsoft. With its endeavor Google expects to create an impact on the markets of America, China and India. Earlier Google had offered Gmail via a wap page but it failed to impress.
You will get to see a lot of improvements in the new application. Its faster, you would experience no lag while accessing mails and it pre fetches messages in an automatic manner. Even its interface looks sleek and clean.
Users interested in downloading this application can visit the gmail.com/app on their cell phone's browser and download it for free.

Very good work. Just to let you know this: I ran into an exciting book: China and the new world order: how entrepreneurship, globalization, and borderless business are reshaping China and the world, written by the outspoken Chinese journalist George Zhibin Gu. It is a must read, which contains vast info on Chinese hightech development, among other issues. Every other handset is made by the Chinese today!
