Google Site is out but it has failed to impress the industry which is not happy with the manner in which Ajax has been used by google coupled with their promise of offering a simpler way of creating websites. As per the company creating website would be as easy as editing documents and you would not even require any external help.

Here is what Google has to say about their offering:

Google Sites, a new offering from Google Apps, makes creating a team site as easy as editing a document. Use Google Sites to centralize all types of information - from videos to presentations - and share your site with just a few people, your entire organization, or the world.

The service has been aimed at SMBs but a number of experts are not impressed at the idea of using Ajax for adding gadget and are demanding it to be reworked or it might drive away users.
