GyPSii has released a Java version of its social networking app for mobile phones.
"The Java client works on more than 100 handsets initially, taking the total number of phones supported by GyPSii to more than 350," writes Mobile Entertainment News' Stuart Dredge. "The company claims the J2ME version has the same look and feel as its smartphone predecessors. It's being distributed through GyPSii's own site, and also through independent app store GetJar."
"The app lets users of mobile phones create content about specific places that they can share with friends allowing the accessing of information on nearby points of interest," explains I4U News' Shane McGlaun.
"Owners of mobile phones such as the Nokia 6300 and the C905 from Sony Ericsson will now be able to connect to the location-centric mobile social network, which, for example, lets users find nearby places that friends and others have tagged," writes PC World's Mikael Ricknäs.
