AJAX

The web 2.0 features that it offers have certainly created a craze for it. Though everybody might love it but I am not sure about the search engines and what about the page views which are regarded as a major criteria for attracting advertising to your site. Yahoo has already witnessed a decline in its page views and it uses AJAX.
There is no doubt that AJAX is here to stay but it would be too early to say that it will change the face of the web world. If something is not done I foresee simple HTML/CSS websites ruling the roost again which are spider friendly and we are all here to earn money, aren't we?

I believe AJAX sites will be more prominent in corporate applications than they will for public facing websites. Some of it is because of the pageview issue you bring up. There are sites that really rely on page ranking and need the deep indexing of the search engines. Others don't need deep indexing so much and can be more free with the technology they use.
