Java ES 5.0 released by Sun
Here comes the new version of Java Enterprise System – Java ES 5.0. It was way back in 2003 when Java ES saw the light of the day and since October 2005 Java ES 5.0 is the first major release. Sun's software, support and training have been clubbed into a single product and it is meant for companies looking forward to get hold of vendor's middleware at predictable prices. You can also avail Java ES in the form of software suites known as Java System Suites.
Some of the changes included in Java ES 5.0 are monitoring framework, monitoring console and a common installer for software components. Java ES 5.0 Base is available for $100 per employee per year and in case identity management is added the charges are $140 per user and when Java CAPS is included the cost climbs up to $200.
