Java, the mainstay of Sun Microsystems which had lost track somewhere in the process is on the revival path. Its open source initiative is expected to do some good to it and it is even looking forward to developing countries to gain something more. These countries are experiencing a solid development in the telecom arena which is causing an increase in the use of cell phones out there. Now it is here that Sun is looking to capitalize and it feels that Java software platform on these cell phones will push up the demand for Sun servers out there.

There are already around 1.2 billion cell phones worldwide which use Java for online services and it is expected that China, India, Brazil and Russia will be the biggest contributor towards the success of Java in the world of cell phones, all thanks to the increase in the use of cell phones in these countries.
