This is a product which has been created on the basis of feedback received from its customers. It is Java Platform Standard Edition for Business which ensures better support, faster technology access coupled with enterprise deployment features. Customers running older releases of Java application now have the option of moving to Java SE for Business for availing access to important updates coupled with operating environment support for existing applications.

Java SE for Business is targeting customers looking for support for around fifteen years. The future version of Java SE will continue to be developed under GPL v2 and the company will also continue to offer support for latest non subscription Java SE release for free.

Subscribed customers can also avail access to important security fixes for Java SE for Business. Specific requests for fixes will be treated on a priority basis. There are also plans for IT managed Java auto-update and integration with Sun xVM Ops Center for Java SE for Business. All these features are expected to offer a greater level of visibility for IT managers for Java software applications.
