Java Posse's TestNG Interview
Filed in archive Application Development on March 12, 2006
I'm currently in a position where I'm starting a project that requires a Java testing framework of some kind. My default position is to simply use JUnit... of course. However, I ran across an interview that I don't remember hearing before on the Java Posse site.
The interview is with Cedric Beust, of Google, who explains the TestNG framework and why developers should use it. After listening to the interview I have to say that his reasoning around why TestNG should be used instead of JUint are compelling. The key idea that I got out of the discussion was that the framework, unlike JUint, is intended to allow developers to test across the different layers of an application. This allows a developer to use TestNG for functional as well as unit testing. I'm going to give it a try myself.
Check out the interview here.
