Bitstream has introduced a new mobile phone Web browser, called Bolt, for Java phones - it's currently in private beta.
"Bolt, the latest mobile browser to hit the internets, supports streaming video, JavaScript, AJAX, RSS, and all of the usual security features," writes IntoMobile's Simon Sage. "The biggest thing is that Bolt works with most phones, so it's potentially a great option for those without a smartphone; those of us with a higher-end device are already having issues deciding which browser to go with, anyway. It doesn't look like it will compete heavily with the entrenched big boys, but could provide some decent browsing to those with lower-end Java-based handsets."
"For an initial beta, Bolt is very impressive," writes WAP Review's Dennis Bournique. "It comes close to Opera Mini in speed and site compatibility, and equals it in overall rendering quality."
