JetBrains has announced a free, open source Community Edition of its Java IDE, IntelliJ IDEA.
"IntelliJ is now available in two forms, one of which will now be free," writes SD Times' Alex Handy. "The Community Edition of IntelliJ IDEA will not only be free, but it also includes the source code for the IDE. The Ultimate Edition will still be available commercially, and will include the numerous enterprise and Web tools needed for larger projects."
More here from JavaWorld ... and the press release is here.
