JRoller Passes 10,000 Users - Largest Java Blogging Server On the Net according to Matthew Schmidt. You can count me as one of those 10,000 registered users. For me this is an example of why me making the switch to Ruby and or Ruby on Rails (RoR) is NOT a no-brainer. For the past few weeks I've been spending a lot of time with RoR. It is one of those situations where I'm trying to do the learn-by-doing thing.

In the course of my RoR adventures I've found very few knowledge oases during my travels that compare to those I've found with javalinks as my traveling companion. I'm able to travel fast and do amazing things with RoR, don't get me wrong. However, sometimes when I lose my way and I need help finding my path again I'll go searching for someone or something to help me. Many times I'm unable to find a guide and I decide to go it alone and trust to luck and my past experiences to get going again.

It has been a long time since I've felt that way with Java and great communities like JRoller are the reason.
