Sun has come out with the beta version of the latest JRuby 1.1 version and you would surely be surprised by its considerably improved performance. You all must be wondering what it is which makes its performance worth appreciating and let me tell you it benefits from Ahead of Time and Just in Time compilers for the JVM which create all the difference.

One would also get to experience better compatibility with standard ruby by connecting some of the features of standard Ruby which were not available on Java Virtual Machine (JVM) but there have been problems with regards to mapping to Java where libraries just address a subset of what is available on JVM. As per the claims of the company this issue would be addressed in its next version. All you need to do is wait till next month to avail JRuby 1.1 in its true form.
