Microsoft Research has released Doloto, a tool that makes Web pages more responsive by decreasing the initial download size of complex AJAX Web applications.
"Microsoft ran experiments across a number of AJAX applications and network conditions, finding that Doloto reduced the amount of initial downloaded JavaScript code by over 40 percent, often resulting in startups faster by 30 to 40 percent, depending on network conditions," writes Ars Technica's Emil Protalinski. "The chart included above shows the savings in the amount of downloaded JavaScript code across a range of popular websites."
More here from ZDNet ... more here from InfoWorld ... and the announcement is here.
