A number of portals and websites have suffered at the hands of Ajax in terms of analytics but not now as Google Analytics will be tracking Ajax, Flash and multimedia applications on your website and let you know how visitors are interacting with them without artificially inflating your page view metrics. Soon Google will be starting beta testing of the new Google Analytics Event tracking functionality. Ga.js which is a new tracking module will be used for defining and tracking various applications and interactions.

I believe that from the point of SEO it will surely be helpful as they will be able to track visitors in a better manner and hence will be able to customize their techniques as per the situation so that they can secure better rankings for their websites in search engines.
