oDesk and Homeshoring
Last week a marketing manager at oDesk emailed me to make me aware of their company. Seems folks are starting to understand pushing the name recognition of a company can happen through blogs now.

With that said I was not going to write and entry about oDesk since I thought I had already pretty much covered everything I had to say on their type of business in my posting entitled "There are No Barriers for Small Business IT Outsourcing.

It seems I was wrong in thinking that because I started to notice articles about this new trend called Homeshoring. Folks that wish or need to work out of their home, or simply have time to take on extra work, are starting to do this. oDesk is one company connecting people willing to do this type of work. BusinessWeek wrote a recent article outlining the story behind the U.S. company. I found it very interesting.

After the Nightmare scenario outsourcing had brought to many of us IT professionals in the U.S. homeshoring sounds like a good thing. I do, however, view these trends overall with caution, which I guess is why I find them so interesting.
