Sun Microsystems has launched a new set of products and services aimed at internet and start up companies for making it an easy job of building and deploying web infrastructure on Solaris 10 OS.

The offerings are as follows:

Solaris + AMP

It's an open source based web infrastructure meant for Solaris 10 OS

Solaris Express, Developer Edition

This is an Open Solaris based distribution for Java, Solaris and Web 2.0 developers.

Expanded Sun Startup Essentials program

Internet companies generally have a preference for open source software which runs on x86 hardware platforms and with these offerings it would become an easier and inexpensive option for them to run tools such as MySQL and Apache in combination with Solaris 10.
