Qualcomm and Oracle have announced the availability of Oracle's Sun Java Wireless Client for Qualcomm's Brew Mobile Platform (Brew MP).
"Oracle's Sun Java Wireless Client's pre-integration onto Brew MP gives Java developers access to an even larger universe of mass-market mobile devices," says Oracle vice president of Java engineering Jeet Kaul. "We're pleased to partner with Qualcomm to bring a high-performance and multi-tasking Java implementation to the operators, handset manufacturers and developers using Brew MP."
"Phones running BREW MP will be able to run Java ME apps that look and feel like equal citizens, which is good for Java ME programmers," writes JavaWorld's Josh Fruhlinger. "So, kudos, Oracle and Qualcomm! Your press release is not unsuitably cheery!"
The not-unsuitably-cheery press release is here.
