Speech Mashups, the latest research project from AT&T looks pretty interesting. The good thing about this project is that your phone will be able to recognize voice commands without the requirement for any voice recognition software.

This service would be accessible from any location provided there is a high speed internet connection available. As long as web standards such as AJAX framework and JavaScript compliance is met this technology will be able to capture voice commands, interpret them and send them back in a program which will be comprehended by the device without requiring the need for installing any software.

It will work on flavor of the season Apple iPhone besides Blackberries, smart phones and IP based TV boxes. It's still in the developing stages so let's see when it makes it mark!!
