It seems Sun will only reach a high when it gets on Apple iPhone which it has been chasing like anything and in its Relentless pursuit both the sides have even ended up making statements which just worked as oxygen for the fire. To me it looked Steve Jobs would stay firm on his stand but after all this is business and who would like to miss out on any business opportunity as you never know it may exist in the future or not. Also who wouldn't like to cash on the success of Apple iPhone which was labeled as a success even before it was launched and the whole media was eager to catch a glimpse of it even before it hit the shelves? People were getting impatient about its launch and its popularity had been surging more than some leaked Hollywood celebrity sex tape. Talks between the two parties are gaining steam with admittance about third party involvement towards the same.

Eric Klein stated on this issue:

We've expressed our intent to do this and our desire to work with Apple to build Java Virtual Machine for the iPhone and we're moving forward with that.

As of now Sun has been working with Innaworks for bringing Java applications to iPhone. Let's see how far these talks go and whether it gets the green signal to Sun for which it has been waiting since eternity. I will keep my fingers crossed on this!!
