Sun and Lazlo Team Up For Mobile Java Based Applications
Sun Microsystems and Laszlo Systems have come together for creating open source applications for mobile devices. The applications would be running on Java ME. They would be contributing their efforts under Project Orbit. OpenLaszlo would be offering development portability to set top boxes, Java based phones and a host of other devices. The OpenLaszlo's XML and Java ME connection is expected to bring richer internet experience to the users.

As per a statement from Sun and Laszlo:

The companies will bridge OpenLaszlo's expressive markuplinks language, LZX, with Java ME

Expect the first demonstrable Project Orbit application running under Java ME to be available under Java ME at openLaszlo.org by the end of this year. You can check some of the examples of applications the companies are working on over here.
