Sun gets hold of certain technologies of SavaJe
Filed in archive Business on April 13, 2007
Sun has added another jewel to its crown. This time it has acquired some intellectual property of SavaJe Technologies and details with regard to it would be revealed at the JavaOne conference next month. The company is known for its Java based embedded operating system.
The 3G technology of the company commands a name for itself and just recently the company came up with its Java enhanced Mobile Platform TD-SCDMA. It is also the first company which used the JSR-209 spec for giving application developers the ability for creation of advanced user interfaces for cell phones using Swing and Java2D. If you are wondering what Sun will do with the technology then in order to know that you will have to wait for the JavaOne conference. It seems that Sun will use the combo of Mobile Java and SavaJe for offering developer tools and this would surely help them in gaining foothold in the TD-SCDMA market and even get some pie in the quickly growing Chinese mobile arena.
