Sun Mobile Enterprise Platform (MEP) 1.0 is out. So what does this mean? Companies running applications on Sun Microsystems servers will be able to give mobile workers access to applications using it.

It can be synchronized with enterprise applications for smart phones and cell phones. Based on open standards it offers two way data synchronization along with offline access features, device management and security. MEP 1.0 ensures secure corporate data transmission supporting SSL and locks stolen or lost devices to prevent data theft.
