Now Sun is offering early access to Java Real-Time System (RTS) for Linux, Java RTS 2.1_EA. which was earlier only available on SPARC or Solaris 10 x86. All thanks to Sun as now there will be real time Java capabilities for Linux with POSIX real-time extensions.

Officially as of now only SUSE Linux Enterprise Real Time 10 is supported but in the future properly configured Linux distributions will be able to run Java RTS 2.1_EA. Support for Red Hat Enterprise MRG 1.0 is also on the anvil.
