Sun patches Java flaw after criticism
Filed in archive Security on July 16, 2007
Remember I had told you about Java security experts being lambasted for their dilly dallying attitude. It seems they have heard the criticism and now the company has gone ahead and issued a critical update for consumer version of Java. The Java SE version 6.0 update 2 has been made available on the website of the company.
Security experts felt that this attitude could give hackers a chance to reverse engineer the Java bug. Sun had defended it by stating that the extra time enabled them to figure and weed out bugs in their product before being made available to the customers. Anyways the drama is over for now!!
