It seems Sun is leaving no stone unturned to make its open source initiative
a success and for this it is ready to fork out $1 million per year in awards to participants of any of several contests it is planning to roll out. If this makes your mouth water then you would be required to participate in one of its open source initiative which includes OpenJDK, OpenSolaris, OpenOffice.org, NetBeans, GlassFish and OpenSPARC to be eligible to win the booty. For this huge amount of money you wont have to wait for long as the details of the contests would be revealed by mid of January, 2008 and prize winners would be declared by the month of August. Looks like Sun is leaving no stone unturned to bring back Java into focus even if it means doling out loads of cash.
