Ubuntu Install for Java Programmers
Filed in archive Basics on June 28, 2006
I found this interesting article on the evolutionNext Weblog. There Daniel Hinojosa takes us through an installation of Ubuntu Distrobution of Linux (Ubuntu means "humanity to others" or so I'm told). After the installation he configures that latest versions of Java and Netbeans. And when I say the latest version I mean those version that are still under development. With that being said those details should be easy enough to changed if your wanting to do this yourself.
Ubuntu seems to be getting a lot of usage these days. A few Linux geeks that I associate with keep mentioning Ubuntu to me as an alternative to Red Hat's Fedora distribution. I'm seriously thinking about giving it a try since my current Linux server is still running Fedora 3.
