Vulnerabilities Affect Sun Java JRE

Sun Java JRE is under threat from hackers and as a result the security of your system might be compromised with. Two errors have been reported in the JRE which could be exploited by malevolent applets for reading and writing local files or execution of local applications. Also two errors connected with serialization have been found in JRE which could be exploited by unknown applets for elevating their privileges.
The vulnerability has been reported in the case of these releases - SDK and JRE 1.4.2_12 and prior, JDK and JRE 5.0 Update 7 and prior and SDK and JRE 1.3.1_18 and prior. The latter release has not been affected by the second vulnerability. Click here to fix the problem.

That's a very sensationalist leading sentence. Any sane hacker attempting attacks through a web site would be looking at easier flaws in popular web browsers.
