Will Google rope in Sun for a possible mobile OS?
Filed in archive Application Development by gautam on November 2, 2007
Words are making rounds that Google might launch a new Google OS on a phone to a suite of applications running on various phones. With this attempt Google could target the mobile advertiser market since there is already two billion plus mobile subscribers in the world and the company could really gain in this arena. On the other hand experts say that it could be of the biggest mistake that Google might be committing if it is true since it does not have the relevant experience in this area and with the market already brimming with uninteroperable software entry of Google could worsen the situation.

I think with this Sun too stands to gain since Java runs on most of the phones available therefore Google could rope in Sun since it has a vast experience in mobile arena and the acquisition of SavaJe has made it emerge even stronger. So what even if Apple does not want Java on its popular iPhone I do visualize that if Google plans on something like this Java certainly stands to gain a lot from it after all we know that Google likes going against the wind and if it had not been like this it would not have been what it is today.
