World’s First Open Web 2.0 Government for Norway, Courtesy Sun

eNorway 2009 has got the blessings of Sun Microsystems and a combo of hardware and software technologies of Sun powered by Solaris 10 OS is being used by the Norwegian government for offering its citizens a web based access and support for the government services. This will enable the citizens to get a single access to every Norwegian Governmental Services over the internet.
The browser based access is completely secure so now Norway people will be able to pay taxes, register their vehicles, get social security benefits and even vote on a single online platform. The portal has been named MiniSide and it seems to be an honest effort by the government to make the lives of their people pretty simple.
Based on the Sun Java System Portal Server, MiniSide will enable the people of Norway to access the services of the government in an electronic manner with the help of a personal interface and secure log on. Even the Java System Calendar Server and the Sun Java System Messaging Server Quick Start Service has been deployed. This is being regarded as one of the world's first open web 2.0 government efforts and Sun is making all efforts to make it a success.
